“There is a great deal of potentials for Iran and Croatia to broaden cooperation and economic investment, and to do so the capacities of the nuclear deal should be fully realized, and banking transactions should be eased, to let the traders of both countries interact more,” said Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker, Ali Larijani, in his meeting with visiting Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović in Tehran on Wednesday.
Larijani told the Croatian President that if the bilateral economic relations are at a low level, now it is the time to put the potentials in action.
“Railroads, rail transportation, marine industries, and energy are the areas of hugher priority at the present moment for us, and are open to investors,” said the Iranian lawmaker while recounting investment opportunities in Iran.
Describing the Iranians’ view toward Croatia, Larijani said that Iranians hold a positive eye on Croatia and that is why tourism and travelling industry are booming between the two countries. He said that Iranians are eager to travel a lot and at the same time investments for building hotels in Iran are supported.
“Terrorism is a phenomenon that has led to insecurity in the Middle East and some areas of Europe,” said Larijani commenting on regional developments. “Unfortunately, NATO or the Anti-Terrorism Coalition of more than 60 countries have done nothing of importance so far,” added the chief lawmaker.
The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) underlined that to establish peace and encounter terrorism, reciprocal understanding is needed, and militancy is not the sole path to the solution.
Croatian President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, during the meeting, for her part, offered greetings for the deal made between Iran and 5+1, dubbed as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as the reopener of Europeans’ relations with Iran.
“This year the centennial present of Islam in Croatia was celebrated, and we are happy that the Muslims’ teachings in Croatia, which spread morality and etiquette in the society, proved the anti-Islamic propaganda wrong, cleared cynicism against Muslims, and led to less number of people joining the ISIL,” highlighted the visiting president of Croatia.
She voiced hope that agreements signed between Iran and Croatia in Tehran pave the way for expansion of bilateral ties.
